Strategic Direction and Professional Advice and support for an Internationally acclaimed Charity

NSM operates as the retained professional adviser for one of the leading charities in the UK with a national and international heritage and reputation.

Its Trustees come from some of the largest, successful and well known UK organisations with a Chair who is internationally recognised and respected.

NSM has a long-term relationship with the charity and has been advising on the strategic priorities and opportunities for the future in the volatile charitable sector.

Strategy and Leadership sessions have been run for the senior team, whilst direct support has been undertaken on financial planning, internal processes, budgeting, and management.

With the departure of the Executive Director of the largest business unit within the charity, NSM were asked to review the current performance of this critical organisational area, providing advice on:

• The existing budget setting, modelling and management process
• Re-examine the level of overhead allocation, proposing new levels as appropriate
• Recommending a revised financial budgeting model for the unit, providing transparency and reinvestment opportunities
• Developing and agree accountabilities and devolvement opportunities for budget holders
• Evaluating the opportunity and make recommendations on the possibility for ‘break-away’ self funding business model for the organisational business unit
• Advising on the timelines, requirements and role specification for the new Executive Director
